Irene has loved working with animals all her life, especially horses and dogs. In 1971, she and her husband Ray founded Blodgett Ranch in Elk Grove, CA. At first, she focused her attention mostly on showing Appaloosa horses. Her skills garnered her and her horses many prestigious awards over those first years.
As time passed, Irene’s attention shifted and she became a breeder of Schipperke dogs. It wasn’t long before she began showing her dogs and again started to garner even more awards from showing her dogs.
Now based in Fallon, NV, these days you will most likely find Irene Blodgett showing both Schipperkes and Australian Shepherds in the obedience training and agility categories... her specialties.
